Introduction

The first Russian cruise tournament “Grand-Prix d’Europe” was organized in 1990 by Alexey Vasilyev, Kazan Go-club director. Many strong players of the Old World took part in it. Some of them afterwards became the leading masters, European Champions and professsionals. The tournament got recognition and the memories of its perfect organization are still alive. It was called the event of the year in European Go.

Moscow and Saint-Petersburg are rightfully belonging to the most beautiful European cities. They are the centres of Russian Go development. From Petersburg Go started its spreading over Russia and now it is the scene of many Russian and some European tournaments. And Moscow directs new ways in Go movement, displays a new approach to the organization problems and is ready to share the experience.

We invite you to be the guests of those Go players you know very well: Harumi Takechi, Chun Poong Jho, Vladimir Holzman, Valery Solovyov, Alexander Dinershtein, Alexey Lazarev, Victor Bogdanov, Lee Hyuk, Oleg Gavrilov – these are the people who will define the atmosphere of Russian Go Congress. You will also meet amateur players from Korea and Japan.

Karaoke-bar, restaurant, disco-bar, night club and playing-room are available.

Computer games competition is planned.

We also plan the following excursions:

Moscow (2 hours, by bus), Myshkin (2 hours, pedestrian), Goritsy - orthodox monastery (5 hours, by bus), island of Kizhi - reserve of old Russian wooden architecture (2 hours, pedestrian), St. Petersburg (3 hours, by bus).

Information about RGC in St. Petersburg

After the cruise, from June 30 till July 4, the European Women’s Championship will take place. It will be in Peterhof in the University campus. Accommodation in the University hotel (double or triple rooms) is 20 Euro pppn. The official participants of the Championship (1 from a country) will have 50% discount. All the persons interested are invited to take part in the side events.

Those who desire can book rooms in the hotel “Europe” in the centre of St. Petersburg. It costs 150 Euro pppn.

You can also order the additional excursions during this period of time.

The price includes : Accommodation in the middle category, meals, excursions, entertaining and information on board, Go events. Official Pairs also receive travel compensation between 50 and 150 euro, depending on distance from Russia.

for the official pairs (1 pair from a country) on the main deck A2, A2+ - 50%
