Jingyu Du convincingly won all his games and ended at the top before Guo Juan. The only other player with six victories was the very promising talent Kei Shinada. There were eleven players with five wins, which is a surprisingly high number. The best player under the top group was Masanori Tanaka, who had beaten the leader in the overall tour-ranking Vladimir Danek in the fifth round.

In the lightning tournament Ad Kampwart (3d) won the final against Tobias Berben (3d). Jingyu Du / Zhao Pei and Dach Zbynek / Klara Zaloudkova shared the first place in the pair tournament (ten pairs took part).

The Children’s tournament and the Extra Rapid tournament had together over forty participants and were very pleasant Saturday-events.

Ad Kampwart Winner of the Lightening Tournament

Ad Kampwart receives the first prize for the lightening tournament. Also in the main tournament Ad did very well by winning 4 games, helping his club Tilburg to become 3rd in the club championship

As a new additional element in the main tournament the highest sums of board points from the best performing four players of the same club were awarded with special club prizes: The hosting Amsterdam Go-club ended at the top just before Paris and Tilburg.
An other new side-tournament was the Continuous Freestyle opportunity for every participant to challenge any other participant on any board size. Vincent Vrolijk (1d) became winner and Jürgen Abels (5k) got a prize for the most games played: 23.
120 players preregistered and took part in the lottery at the closing ceremony. Thanks to this extra event the organisation before the first round went smoothly and quick.

The Amsterdam tournament has a strong tradition, but this year has proven that, thanks to the Toyota Tour, on many aspects there was still a big improvement possible. The organisation likes to continue on this new way.
