XXI Japanese Ambassador Cup in Russia, the biggest and the oldest Russian tournament, was held this weekend (from 24th to 25th October) in Moscow. The playing hall with a capacity of 160 players seemed to be too small for such a big number of interested players.
2 days before the tournament started, a big press conference was held at the Russia Today INA, where many big names took part.  Read more...

Round 1 of the 6th PGETC
The 6th Pandanet Go European Team Championship has started in September 2015. In this EGF-tournament 34 countries/teams fight for their placements in Leagues A,B,C. The best 4 teams from League A qualify for the Finals of the PGETC that will be held during the EGC in St. Petersburg. The games are played on internet on Pandanet-IGS in the EuropeanTeamChamp room generally Tuesday evenings (20:00 CET).   Read more...

The EGF is happy to announce that the date and time of the 2nd European Go Grand Slam Tournament is fixed. It will be in Berlin, from 28th of April to 1st of May 2016.
On the weekend, there will be the Side tournament, the China Cup (30th of April to 1st of May). The venue will be the Chinese Culture Center, same as it was for the 1st European Go Grand Slam Tournament.
The Grand Slam tournaments are part of the European Grand Prix

The 14th International Brno Tournament, a Bonus Point C class tournament, was held on the weekend from 4th to 6th September 2015. The tournament took place in Hotel Santon, Brno, Czech Republic. It attracted 122 players from 10 countries from which 21 players were 5 dan or stronger. Many top players had come because of big prices, first prize 1200 euro and the top 10 players in rating before the tournament had accommodation and entry fee paid by the organizers. Top two boards were broadcasted on KGS under accounts "Brno 2015a" and "Brno2015b". Some games finished by half a point.  Read more...

The 3rd Edition of the CEGO Academic System had already started on 1st of September 2015 in Beijing, China. Thanks to EGF, CEGO and Ge Yuhong Go Academy some of our top players can study Go/Weiqi from September 2015 until beginning of February 2016 in the 3rd Edition. The 59th WeiqiTV European Go Congress, held in Liberec, Czech Republic was finished by a Closing Ceremony on Saturday, 8th of August 2015. This was the first Congress where The European Championship had already finished after one week, therefore the second week was there for The Main Tournament and side tournaments such as The Omikron Rengo European Championship, 9x9 Tournament, Children Tournament, Ladies Tournament and Lightning Tournament.
