Cannes, France, 15th - 17th February 2008

Tournament System

5 rounds, 10 teams, 4 players/team. Points were scored for each victory according to the table below. (Note the referee could deduct points if a reprimand was necessary.)

  • 18 points for first board victory
  • 14 points for second board victory
  • 12 points for third board victory
  • 11 points for fourth board victory

The teams were ordered:

  1. Total number of points
  2. Result of last match between the two teams
  3. Result of match between best common opponent
  4. Number of "Full Victories" (4-0 matches)
  5. Result of a blitz game between the top boards

The first four of those criteria provided the ordering for pairing of subsequent rounds of the tournament, random otherwise.
