1st Pair Go World Cup

20th - 22nd March 2010, Hangzhou, China

To celebrate 20 years of Pair Go the new Pair Go World Cup was launched in China in 2010.

Two professional pairs from each of China, Japan, Korea and Chinese Taipei (Taiwan) were joined by 8 pairs from the rest of the world. Mexico, USA, South Africa, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, Czechia and Russia all took part, but all lost to the pro pairs in round 1.

Chinese Pairs won the final and also the play-off for third place, both against Korean pairs. The Japanese and Taiwanese pairs went out on the quarter-finals.

  1. China - Rong Hui Song 5p and He Xie 7p
  2. Korea - Lee Min Jin 5p and Jin Seuk Mok 9p
  3. China - Yi Tang 2p and Xing Liu 7p
  4. Korea - Soh Yun Park 2p and Jin Huh 1p
  5. Europe's pairs were Jitka Bartova and Jan Hora from Czechia, who lost to Park and Huh of Korea, and Natalia Kovaleva and Dmitry Surin, who lost to Hsiao amd Hsaio of Chinese Taipei by less than 24 points. USA's pair was Jie Li playing with Feng Yun 9p.
