The 15th European Go Congress21.08.1971-04.09.1971, Bristol, EnglandThe 1971 European Congress took place just a little outside of Bristol. In quiet surroundings it was the ideal place to play Go, because most pubs were far away. The European Championship was won by Zoran Mutabzija with 5 points out of six games. He lost only to Henk de Vries, who lost his first two games, but managed to win the rest to take second place. Max Rebattu finished third on sodos. The second most important tournament was the Master Championship Tournament. Robert Rehm from Holland won all of his games. The Candidate Master Tournament was won by Dragan Barisic (Yug) and the Zone 1 Tournament by Francis Roads. Report from British Go Journal 15Championship Group
