21st International Amateur Pair Go Championship

16th - 17th October 2010, Tokyo

The IAPGC moved from its usual slot in November to October to avoid the Asian Games, which would feature Go events for the first time.

10 European teams took part, including a late change where Romania replaced France, due to personal reasons of one of their players. As usual there was one game on the Saturday, before the friendship match, in which Bosnia, Italy, Poland and Ukraine won their first game. After three rounds Poland and Ukraine were the best European teams on 2 wins, and Poland went on to win a third game to take 16th place.

Winners of the event were the Korean pair of Lee Yeong-Ju, 5d, and Song Hong-Suk, 7d, both Go instructors. The beat a Japanese pair, the Hiraokas, in the final. Another Japanese pair was third and China fourth. In among the other Japanese Pairs were Chinese Taipei in 8th, Canada 10th and USA 15th.
