EGF Grand Prix Tournament Organization

The Grand Prix Circuit structures the European Go calendar, incentivizing players and organizers to raise the level of events year-round, culminating in the Grand Prix Finale. In the Grand Prix circuit, players can earn seats and points to qualify to the Finale stage, usually played in the beginning of the following year.

How to integrate the Grand Prix Circuit?

Tournaments may join as Bonus A, B, C, or D, receiving EGF support and visibility.
The European Championship is the only Bonus A tournament.
Bonus events are major, accessible tournaments with high participation and level, played face to face and EGD ranked.
They must be backed by the national federation and insure a decent level of organization.

Submissions - an email to egf-executive at eurogofed.org with details about the event - for Bonus A, B and C are welcome from June until the end of September for the next calendar year. As for Bonus D, they must be submitted:

By the end of September → for D Tournaments played between January - June
By the end of March → for D Tournaments played between July - December
Please see below the requirements for joining the Grand Prix Circuit.
The table gives an overview, the categories below it gives more details on what is expected both from organizers and EGF.

For the 2026 circuit, it is possible to apply as Bonus D until the end of April and at least two months ahead for events before july, then the normal calendar will come into action.
