XXI Japanese Ambassador Cup in Russia, the biggest and the oldest Russian tournament, was held this weekend (from 24th to 25th October) in Moscow. The playing hall with a capacity of 160 players seemed to be too small for such a big number of interested players.
2 days before the tournament started, a big press conference was held at the Russia Today INA, where many big names took part.  Read more...

12th Sankei Tournament and exchange matches

The Sankei Tournament, sponsored by Sankei newspaper, is held annually by Kansai Ki-in in Osaka. Pros and amateurs compete in separate preliminaries to qualify to the main tournament.

The 2nd Xian Tournament

The 2nd Qinling Mountains Cup Silk Road International City Weiqi Tournament will start tomorrow! The tournament is held in Xi'an, China from October 9th till October 11th 2015.
Today, 20 representatives from Europe, our president Martin Stiassny and 19 players have attended the opening ceremony of the 2nd edition of this tournament. Together,players from 21 cities from 13 countries will participate in this team competition.  Read more...

Round 1 of the 6th PGETC
The 6th Pandanet Go European Team Championship has started in September 2015. In this EGF-tournament 34 countries/teams fight for their placements in Leagues A,B,C. The best 4 teams from League A qualify for the Finals of the PGETC that will be held during the EGC in St. Petersburg. European Student Championship 2015

The European Student Go Championship took place in the Confucius Institute in Cluj Napoca, Romania, from 18 to 20 September 2015.

There were 14 participants from 8 countries, fighting for 1 spot of financial support to go to the World Collegiate Championship in Toronto, and one of the 4 spots to represent Europe in the 2nd World Student Pair Go Championship in Tokyo.   Read more...

Moravian Open Brno

The 14th International Brno Tournament, a Bonus Point C class tournament, was held on the weekend from 4th to 6th September 2015. The tournament took place in Hotel Santon, Brno, Czech Republic. It attracted 122 players from 10 countries from which 21 players were 5 dan or stronger. Many top players had come because of big prices, first prize 1200 euro and the top 10 players in rating before the tournament had accommodation and entry fee paid by the organizers. Top two boards were broadcasted on KGS under accounts "Brno 2015a" and "Brno2015b". Some games finished by half a point.  Read more...

The 3rd Edition of the CEGO Academic System had already started on 1st of September 2015 in Beijing, China. Thanks to EGF, CEGO and Ge Yuhong Go Academy some of our top players can study Go/Weiqi from September 2015 until beginning of February 2016 in the 3rd Edition.
