3rd Silk Road Tournament in Urumqi 1-6 Sep

The 3rd edition of the Silk Road International City Weiqi International Tournament will be held in Urumqi, China, from 1 to 6 September. 12th Sankei Tournament and exchange matches

The Sankei Tournament, sponsored by Sankei newspaper, is held annually by Kansai Ki-in in Osaka. Pros and amateurs compete in separate preliminaries to qualify to the main tournament.

European Student Championship 2015

The European Student Go Championship took place in the Confucius Institute in Cluj Napoca, Romania, from 18 to 20 September 2015.

There were 14 participants from 8 countries, fighting for 1 spot of financial support to go to the World Collegiate Championship in Toronto, and one of the 4 spots to represent Europe in the 2nd World Student Pair Go Championship in Tokyo.   Read more...

2015 Second Annual World Collegiate Go Championship

The 2nd edition of the World Collegiate Go Championship took place at National Tsinghua University in Taiwan, from 9 to 10 July 2015. It was organised by the Ing foundation. More than 100 students from all over the world took part, a majority of them from Asia.

The tournament was accompanied by a sightseeing and Go programme lasting from 7 to 13 July.  Read more...

The GLOBIS Cup, a U20 world championship, played from 08-05-2015 to 10-05-2015 in Tokyo, Japan, was won by Huang Yunsong 4p from China.
Pavol Lisy 1p, representing Europe, battled and lost to tough opponents in the preliminary rounds:
