Another exciting opportunity for amateur players to compete in China - Weiqi Competition of the Traditional Sports International Festival.
This September, 100 amateur players will gather in Jiangyin, China, to compete in Men’s Individual and Women’s Individual groups.

Place: Jiangyin, Jiangsu Province, China
Eligibility: players in good physical condition for competition, between 18 to 65 years of age (born after Jan 1, 1960, before Dec 31, 2007)

Participants
Each team may register a maximum of 3 participants including 2 male players and 1 female player, or 1 male player and 2 female players. Both the Men's Individual Event and the Women's Individual Event are divided into an Open Group and a Group for International & the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan regions of China. Competitors from the 2 Groups will compete together, and rankings will be determined separately for each group.
Format
The competition will be conducted in accordance with the latest rules enacted by the Chinese Weiqi Association, with the black side receiving a compensation of 3 3/4 stones. Swiss System, 8 rounds. Time Control: 40 minutes basic time, followed by 3 renewable 20-second overtime periods.
Awards
Men’s Individual: The top 12 will be ranked and awarded with diplomas, medals and prize money.
Champion: RMB8000
Runner-up: RMB6000
3rd place: RMB3000
4th to 8th place: RMB2000 each
9th to 12th: RMB1000 each.
Women’s Individual: The top 6 will be ranked and awarded with diplomas, medals and prize money.
Champion: RMB6000
Runner-up: RMB4000
3rd place: RMB3000
4th to 6th place: RMB2000 each.
Financial Conditions
No entry fee. Each participating Team shall be responsible for its own international airfare and related travel expenses. The organizing committee will cover the costs associated with their local accommodation, food and transportation.
Please note, for this competition registration shall be submitted by respective regional Associations. As such, if you want to participate, please cooperate with your national Association.
