The Dutch Go Championships 2018 took place during the two weekends of 13-14 and 27-28 January in the European Go Cultural Centre in Amstelveen. A new championship system was implemented, making it open to any Dutch player. After a period of 37 years, Rob van Zeijst 7d repeated his victory of 1981 and claimed his second Dutch title. Marika Dubiel 2d became Dutch Women's champion for the eighth time in a row.  Read more...

From Friday 20 to Sunday 22 October the European Go Cultural Centre in Amstelveen organised several events in celebration of their 25th anniversary. One of those events was the EGCC Anniversary Tournament, which was dominated by German resident Seong-jin Kim 8d. In a field of 87 players from 15 different countries, of which no less than 38 were dan players, Korean-born Kim defeated all opposition. Second place was claimed by Artem Kachanovskyi 1p and third place went to Lukáš Podpěra 7d.  Read more...

In 1992, the European Go Cultural Centre (EGCC) was founded in Amstelveen, the Netherlands, with the financial aid of Kaoru Iwamoto 9p and the Nihon Ki-in.

In 2017, the EGCC celebrates its 25th anniversary. To commemorate this milestone, the centre organises a special Anniversary Go Tournament in the weekend of 21-22 October!   Read more...

The INDIS, a yearly qualification tournament to determine who may compete in the Dutch Championships, was won by Herman Hiddema 4d from Groningen.

The Utrecht Go Tournament 2016, one of the bigger tournaments in the Netherlands, took place in the weekend of 25-26th of June. The top three players all won 4 out of 5 games: Filip Vanderstappen 5d took first place, followed by Robert Rehm 5d in second place and Michiel Eijkhout 6d placing third.   Read more...

Merlijn Kuin 6d qualified to represent the Netherlands at the Korean Prime Minister's Cup that will take place in Buan from 3-9 September 2016.
Kuin defeated Geert Groenen 6d in the finals of the Dutch elimination tournament that took place on the 2nd of July in the European Go Cultural Center in Amstelveen.  Read more...
