Back in the calendar of major European tournaments after a break, the Dutch Open, a bonus point B tournament, took place in Amsterdam on May 30th to June 1st. The Czech champion, Lukas Podpera, took the first place.

Many players were overcome with excitment whilst studying the tournament calendar when they saw that the Dutch Open was back, taking place in Amsterdam from May 30th to June 1st.
This long awaited event gathered 54 players this year in the capital, for 6 rounds.

Lukas Podpera 7d from Czechia took the first place, beating the other favourite, Korean player Kim Dohyup 8d, and ending with 5/6 losing the last round to one of the (several) young German rising star Zhang Shukai Kirby 6d.

Eventually, the podium was as follows:

1st place – Lukas Podpera 7d (CZ)
2nd place – Kim Dohyup 8d (KR)
3rd place – Benjamin Teuber 6d (DE)

Congratulations, and thanks to the organisers for this successful event!
Games were broadcast and the final day had live reviews by Stanislaw Frejlak 2p and Mateusz Surma 3p on EGF Twitch (replay available for a while).
