The European Women’s Go Championship 2026 will take place in London, UK, on October 3-4. This prestigious event, which determines the best women Go player in Europe, will welcome players from all over Europe to the London Go Centre, including many national champions and even a World Champion!

To participate, players must be nationals of EGF member countries. There are no strength or rating requirements, so even if this would be your very first tournament, you are warmly welcome to participate!

The London Go Centre has extensive experience hosting high-quality events, and for this year’s championship, players will benefit from the teaching of in-residence professional players.

Beyond awarding the title of European Women’s Champion, the tournament will also serve as a qualifier for several World Women’s events. The winner may choose which event she wishes to participate in:

• The Wu Qingyuan (Go Seigen) Cup, a tournament usually held in autumn in China, featuring top professional (and amateurs) players, to which one European player is usually invited. The invitation earned at this championship would be for the 2027 edition.
• The Amateur SENKO Cup, a world tournament with eight amateur players, played in a direct knockout format, held in Tokyo, Japan, around March 2027.
  Europe usually has three places in this event. It is held alongside the SENKO Cup World Women’s Strongest, the professional edition of the tournament, which also features eight players: four from Japan, China, Korea, and Taiwan, together with the winner of the previous year’s Amateur SENKO Cup. In 2027, this will be Manja Marz 4d, winner of the 2026 Amateur SENKO Cup.

Above all, however, the European Women’s Go Championship is renowned for its friendly and studious atmosphere. New friendships are formed at every edition, united by a shared desire to make women’s Go stronger than ever.
