European Women Go Championship

Trier, Germany

Sep 6th to Sep 8th, 2019

We are happy to invite you to the European Women Go Championship 2019 in Trier, Germany. Trier is a very old city, hosting several UNESCO World Heritage Sites. It has been residence of the Roman emperors for more than one century and its main church is one of the oldest in the world. The area is famous for its Riesling wine.

Trier is located in the Western part of Germany, close to Luxembourg, France, Belgium and the Netherlands. It is easily reachable by airplane via Luxembourg International Airport (45 minutes drive away) and the discount airlines hub Frankfurt-Hahn (1 hour away). By train it can be reached from Paris by TGV via Luxembourg or Saarbrücken in less than four hours and from Cologne (Köln) and Frankfurt via regional trains in around three hours.

The tournament will be a three days event with 6 rounds of games, nice side events and prizes for the winners. The well-known Chinese professional Guo Juan will be there to review games and we also plan to offer child care. The welcome dinner with wine tasting will be free for all participants. We can advise you for affordable accommodation in Trier, but please book early, since Trier is a popular tourist destination.
