Jeon Yujin and Song Hongsuk of Korea won the 21st International Amateur Pair Go Championships in Tokyo. Both the European Championship Pair (Rita Pocsai and Pal Balogh) and the Russian pair (Natalia Kovaleva and Dmitry Surin) won three games to take 8th and 14th place respectively.  Read more...

The 10th Korea Prime Minister Cup Baduk Championship, the unofficial world amateur championship, was held from November 23rd to November 25th in Seoul, South Korea. One of the representatives of Europe, Christian Pop 7 dan from Romania, became third!  Read more...

The second Jin LONG CHENG Cup World Team Go Championship (Zhu Gang Cup) will be held from the 15th of December until the 23rd of December 2015. The venue will be Bai Yun Hotel, Guangzhou, China.
The registration is open for every country. Each country can nominate one team that consists of three players. Chinese rules are applied for the competition. The total amount of prizes will be 5.000.000 RMB. The registration is until 30th of November.  Read more...

The Sankei Tournament, sponsored by Sankei newspaper, is held annually by Kansai Ki-in in Osaka. Pros and amateurs compete in separate preliminaries to qualify to the main tournament.

The 2nd Qinling Mountains Cup Silk Road International City Weiqi Tournament will start tomorrow! The tournament is held in Xi'an, China from October 9th till October 11th 2015.
Today, 20 representatives from Europe, our president Martin Stiassny and 19 players have attended the opening ceremony of the 2nd edition of this tournament. Together,players from 21 cities from 13 countries will participate in this team competition.  Read more...

The European Student Go Championship took place in the Confucius Institute in Cluj Napoca, Romania, from 18 to 20 September 2015.

There were 14 participants from 8 countries, fighting for 1 spot of financial support to go to the World Collegiate Championship in Toronto, and one of the 4 spots to represent Europe in the 2nd World Student Pair Go Championship in Tokyo.   Read more...

Today the EGF got the information that on the 26th International Amateur Pair Go Championship held from 5th to 7th December 2015 9 pairs from Europe can participate. One of them are the European Pair Go Champions 2015, Rita Pocsai and Pal Balogh.

There is a new opportunity for European pairs this year, Europe can send 2 pairs to the 2nd World Students Pair Go Championship, which will be held at the same time as the Amateur Pair Go Championship in Tokyo. EGF executive board   Read more...

The 1st round of the 2nd MLily Cup had been played on the 7th of July 2015 in Beijing, China. Our representatives Ilya Shikshin 1p and Alexandre Dinerstein 3p both from Russia faced strong opponents from far East. They were stopped to qualify for Top 32. Ilya Shikshin lost against South Korea nr. 1 Park Junghwan 9p and Alexandre Dinerstein lost against Kim Sedong 5p also from South Korea.  Read more...

The 2nd edition of the World Collegiate Go Championship took place at National Tsinghua University in Taiwan, from 9 to 10 July 2015. It was organised by the Ing foundation. More than 100 students from all over the world took part, a majority of them from Asia.

The tournament was accompanied by a sightseeing and Go programme lasting from 7 to 13 July.  Read more...
