European Go Congresses

The European Go Congress has been held every year since 1957. The table below includes statistics showing the growth of the event since 1982. Totals shown where known are for the European Championship (Main Event), the Weekend Tournament and for overall partipation.

You will see that attendance varies from event to event depending on location, ease of access, price and so on. Not every attendee plays all games of the Main Event, and some only play the Weekend. Others rest at the Weekend and others play all events. Whether more or less players take part at the weekend largely depends on location and the number of local players.

For a list of winners see results.

Table omits ghosts and no-shows from the particpant numbers.
